Day 1: Bogota

Arrival at Bogota El Dorado International airport.

Transfer to your hotel in the Candelaria district.

Free time to enjoy at your own Colombia´s capital city where modern districts and historic center, urban architecture and green parks stand alongside.

Day 2: Bogota - Bucaramanga - Chicamocha Canyon - Barichara

Transfer to Bogota airport for your domestic flight.

Domestic flight to Bucaramanga.
Arrival at Bucaramanga, capital of Santander. You will take the road till Chicamocha, the greatest canyon of Colombia. On site, hiking enthusiasts will appreciate the groomed trails weaving through the park, while others may prefer to take the aerial tramway that offers a breathtaking view over the river.
Then, you will continue till Barichara, a small village perched high on a cliff overlooking the Rio Suarez.
End of the day free. During the evening, you will have the opportunity to taste the local specialty, the "hormiga culona" (toasted ant), appreciated for centuries by the inhabitants the region.

Day 3: Barichara - Guane - Barichara

Let´s go for a walk thought the cactus and the bucolic landscapes of Camino Real. This old paved way was, during pre-Colombian time, the main road for the Guane indigenous people.
Then, you will reach the eponymous village, where you will take the time to discover the colonial homes as well as a small museum that houses numerous fossils and a mummified princess.
Note 1: 4 to 5 hours return walk.
Note 2: about 30 minutes drive.
You will visit Barichara, considered as one of the most beautiful cities in Colombia. You will walk among the cobbled streets, visit the churches (Cathedral of Immaculate Conception and Santa Barbara Church) and discover the local workshops (stone carvers, cigar factory, etc…).
The walk will end at the watchtower which offers a splendid panorama over the Rio Suarez and the Cordillera de los Cobardes.
Note: The city tour will be entirely by foot. Approximately 3 hours.

Day 4: Barichara - Villa de Leyva

Transfer to Villa de Leyva, a charming colonial town of Boyaca department.
Note: about 5 hours drive.
Half day city tour of Villa de Leyva. You will discover the main sites of this preserved colonial town :
-Casa Antonio Nariño et Casa Antonio Ricaurte,
-El Carmen Church
-Plaza Mayor

Day 5: Villa de Leyva - Raquira - Nemocón - Bogota

Departure for Bogota. On the way you will stop at Raquira, a small village famous for its ceramic workshops. The "city of the pots" (in Muisca language), with colorful facades, is particularly lively on Sundays thanks to its weekly market.


Then, you will visit Nemocón Salt Mine, located thirty minutes from Zipaquira. There, 80 meters underground, you will cross 1600 meters of tunnels through which between 1816 and 1968, eight million tons of salt were extracted. Many optical effects caused by the dissolved rock salt show no less than 28 mirrors.


Among the impressive attractions: the room of the chapel where there is a huge 1,300 kilos stone symbolizing the world, or the salt crystal of 1600 kilos cut into heart shape.

Day 6: Bogota - Pitalito - San Agustin

Transfer to Bogota airport for your domestic flight.
Domestic flight to Pitalito.

Arrival at Pitaito airport. You will take the road to San Agustin. After the check-in at your hotel, you will visit Estrecho del Rio Magdalena, a rocky gorge of 2.20 meters wide in which Colombia's longest river clears itself a way with an unimaginable strength.

Day 7: San Agustin Archaeological Park - San Agustin

This day will be dedicated to the visit of San Agustin Archaeological Park, listed as World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. You will go through the main sites:

- "Las Mesitas", housing crypts, figurines and funerary dolmens;

- "El Bosque de las Estatuas", numerous statues representing mostly male anthropomorphic figures, sometimes with feline features;

- "El Fuente de Lavapatas”, a religious monument engraved in the riverbed, considered as a sacred site by the indigenous people;

- "Alto Lavapatas", the oldest site of San Agustin (3300 BC), guarded by impressive statues and offering a unique view over the valley and the various archaeological sites;

- Horseback riding (optional) to reach El Chaquira and El Tablon sites while enjoying the breathtaking landscapes of the Andes.

Day 8: San Agustin Archaeological Park - San Agustin

This day will be dedicated to the visit of natural and archaeological sites around San Agustin, during a tour by jeep punctuated by several stops: - Visit of Alto de los Ídolos Archaeological Park, characterized by its numerous funerary complexes with dolmens-shaped slabs, sarcophagi and statues; - Visit of sugarcane farm - Walk to reach Mortiño waterfall (180 meters high) or Salto Bordones.

Day 9: San Agustin - Popayan

Departure to Popayán, nicknamed the "White City" because of its buildings in lime and wrought iron balconies. Check-in at your hotel and end of the day free to discover the city. Note: 4 to 5 hours’ drive.

Day 10: Popayan - Silvia - Armenia - Cocora Valley

Transfer from Popayán to the coffee region.
On the road, you will stop at Silvia. This village is known for its colorful weekly market and for its inhabitants, the Guambianos native of the Ecuador.
You will visit the village and discover the aboriginal culture (traditions, craft...).
Note: 5 hours drive.

Day 11: Salento - Cocora Valley

This journey will be dedicated to the discovery of typical villages and landscapes of the coffee region.
- A tour in a traditional “jeep Willy” in the heart of the green valley of Cocora
- Hiking among the wax palm trees (Colombian national tree)
- Lunch break
- Coffee plantation visit. Inside a typical “finca”, you will learn everything about coffee. The production is as complex and sophisticated as wine. On site you will have the opportunity to walk among the coffee trees and to be introduced to the process of harvesting and roasting, before enjoying the drink produced on site.
- Visit of Salento village: discovering of the local architecture and traditional buildings made of bamboo (guadua).

Day 12: Cocora Valley - Armenia - Medellin

Private tour of a beautiful property nestled in the heart of the Cocora Valley. From there, you will go for a half-day walk with your tour guide to explore the area: wax palm trees, waterfalls, etc…
This natural reserve that extends over several hectares is a private property: it will guarantee you a very nice and quiet walk which is perfect for birdwatching!
Note 1: a picnic lunch can be organized near by the waterfall. For more details, please contact us.
Note 2: swimming in the waterfall is possible.
Departure for Medellin, capital of Antioquia, known as well as "the city of eternal spring".

Day 13: Medellin

This day will be dedicated to Medellin City tour.
You will start the day by a guided walking tour of Carabobo district to discover the different types of architecture of the city: from Palacio Nacional to Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria basilica, before reaching Plaza Botero, where you will discover the unique style statues of Colombia´s famous artist Fernando Botero.
In the afternoon, a ride on the Metrocable will take you up to the hills of the city to enjoy Medellin from above. Then, you will head to the beautiful botanical garden before visiting Santo Domingo district.
You will go back down to Nutibara hill, considered one of the city's seven "guardian" hills, and also one of the few ecosystems that is conserved in Medellín.
The end of the day will be free for you to enjoy Medellin’s posh and most popular neighborhood, El Poblado, at your own pace.
Note: Optional visit of Antioquia museum. Located in the Grand Art Deco Palacio Municipal, this museum houses the largest collection of works donated by Medellin native Fernando Botero as well as pre-Colombian, colonial and modern art collections. Entrance fees are not included.

Day 14: Medellin - Guatape - Santa Fé de Antioquia - Medellin

Today, you will choose between two options:
- Guatapé excursion: a day in the hearth of the Antioquian countryside to enjoy its bucolic landscapes. You will step at El Peñol, an impressive granite monolith on the shores of an artificial lake. After climbing the 659 stone steps, you will reach the top of el Peñol offering a 360-degree view over the lake and the village. Then, you will visit Guatapé, a small colorful village renowned for its "Zócalos", ornamented friezes that adorn many buildings.
Note: about 3 hours’ drive during the day.
- Santa Fe excursion: you will visit the village to discover its very well preserved colonial architecture, listed as country's historic heritage, such as its Cathedral and churches (La Ermita, Santa Barbara, San Ignacio) or its Spanish mansions (The Casa Negra). On the way back, you will pass through the typical villages of Sopetran and San Jeronimo. Lunch on the banks of the Cauca River. End of the day free.

Day 15: Medellin - Cartagena de Indias

Transfer to Medellin airport for your domestic flight.
Domestic flight to Cartagena.
Arrival at Cartagena de Indias, the undisputed queen of the Caribbean coast, a fairy-tale city of romance, legends and superbly preserved beauty lying within an impressive 13km of centuries-old colonial stone walls. Cartagena's old town is a Unesco World Heritage site – a maze of cobbled alleys, balconies covered in bougainvillea, and massive churches that cast their shadows across plazas.
Transfer to your hotel in the historic center. Free time to enjoy the end of the day.

Day 16: Cartagena de Indias

In the morning, you will go for a guided walking tour through the Walled City, including the visit of the most beautiful areas such as San Diego, Plaza Santo Domingo, Getsemani and other landmarks with very rich history.

Day 17: Cartagena de Indias - San Andres Island

Half Day tour to visit the main historic and cultural sites of Cartagena:

- The Convento de la Popa
- The fortifications San Felipe Barajas
- The historic center : the Palace of the Inquisition, Santa Catalina Alejandria Cathedral, Basilica Menor

Free time to immerse yourself in the tropical atmosphere of the old town.

Note : the order of visits may be modified.
Transfer to Cartagena airport for your domestic flight.

Domestic flight to San Andres.

Note: In Cartagena Airport, before boarding for San Andres, you will have to pay a local tax of 105 000 COP / person. Keep the receipt with you if you go to Providencia.

Day 18: San Andres Island - Providencia Island

Departure by boat for a spectacular tour to explore Providencia by the sea. You will pass by Morgan rock, Santa Catalina Island, McBean Lagoon National Natural Park with a stop at Cayo Cancrejo to enjoy the “7 shades of blue” sea and snorkel. Lunch break on the beach (not included).
You will be back at the hotel in mid-afternoon. End of the day free.

Day 19: Providencia Island

Half-day walk where you will go to the highest peak of the island, called El Pico (The Peak). After crossing the lush vegetation, you will reach 360 meters above sea level, offering a splendid view of the whole island and particularly on its huge barrier reef.

Afternoon free to enjoy Providencia island according to your desires.

Day 20: Providencia Island

This half-day will be dedicated to snorkeling and the discovery the underwater wealth of Providencia. You will go by boat to McBean Lagoon National Park, the best place on the island to observe underwater life. Several stops will be done to allow you swimming with colorful fishes and even turtles!
Note: Snorkeling equipment will be provided.
Note: Mc Bean Lagoon entrance fee is 16000 COP. To be paid on site.

Day 22: Bogota

Explore Colombia´s capital city of Bogota, known for its colonial and authentic atmosphere. Walking through its cobblestoned streets, you will discover colorful restored colonial mansions, splendid carved wooden balconies as well as churches built in baroque style.


- The Gold museum displays one of the most dazzling collection in South America. It brings together around 34.000 pieces of goldsmith work, considered as the world´s largest pre-Colombian collection of its kind. Those artifacts come from different civilizations : Quimbayas, Taironas, Muiscas or Tolimas.


- Botero Museum is dedicated to the most famous colombian artist, Fernando Botero. The Museum contains both his works (around a hundred of drawings, paintings and sculptures) as well as his private collection with no less than 85 masterpieces of well known artists, such as Dali, Renoir, Chagall, Picasso, Miro ...


- Bolivar Square (la Plaza Bolivar) surrounded by Bogota´s grandest buildings, including the Town Hall, the Palace of Justice, Primatial Cathedral, Congress Building...
