Day 1: Bogota

Arrival at Bogota El Dorado International airport.

Transfer to your hotel in the Candelaria district.

Day 2: Bogota

Full day to explore Colombia´s capital city of Bogota, known for its colonial and authentic atmosphere. Walking through its cobblestoned streets, you will discover colorful restored colonial mansions, splendid carved wooden balconies as well as churches built in baroque style.


- Cerro de Monserrate is the 3152m peak flanking the city´s east. Over there, you will envoy a stunning view over the city and abouts. On its top, there is a white church (accessible by cable car or by funicular railway) is a major mecca for pilgrims, particularly crowded on religious days.


- La Plaza de Mercado de Paloquemao, is a real messy Colombian market where you will be able to get exostic tastes and buy everything you need to cook a real "Bogotano" receipe.


- The Gold museum displays one of the most dazzling collection in South America. It brings together around 34.000 pieces of goldsmith work, considered as the world´s largest pre-Colombian collection of its kind. Those artifacts come from different civilizations : Quimbayas, Taironas, Muiscas or Tolimas.


- Botero Museum is dedicated to the most famous colombian artist, Fernando Botero. The Museum contains both his works (around a hundred of drawings, paintings and sculptures) as well as his private collection with no less than 85 masterpieces of well known artists, such as Dali, Renoir, Chagall, Picasso, Miro ...


- Bolivar Square (la Plaza Bolivar) surrounded by Bogota´s grandest buildings, including the Town Hall, the Palace of Justice, Primatial Cathedral, Congress Building...



Note 1: walking tour in the Candelaria colonial center (3 to 4 hours walking in the city). A vehicle is included for the visit of Montserrate.

Note 2: the order of visits may be modified depending on the weekday. (The Gold Museum is closed on Mondays. Botero Museum is closed on Tuesdays).

Day 3: Bogota - Nemocón - Villa de Leyva

Departure for the Boyaca department. Along the way you will stop at Nemocón Salt Mine, located thirty minutes from Zipaquira. There, 80 meters underground, you will cross 1600 meters of tunnels through which between 1816 and 1968, eight million tons of salt were extracted. Many optical effects caused by the dissolved rock salt show no less than 28 mirrors.
Among the impressive attractions: the room of the chapel where there is a huge 1,300 kilos stone symbolizing the world, or the salt crystal of 1600 kilos cut into heart shape.
Transfer to the hotel and end of the day free to enjoy the atmosphere of Villa de Leyva.
Note: 5 to 6 hours’ drive during the day.

Day 4: Villa de Leyva - Surroundings of Villa de Leyva - Raquira - Villa de Leyva

This day will be dedicated to the discovery of Raquira and its surroundings.


- Visit of Raquira, known as “the pottery capital of Colombia”. This village features a lot of brightly painted facades with numerous of craft shops selling things such as bags, ponchos, woodcarvings, jewelry and of course, where you can watch pottery being made. Make sure to be here on Sunday: when the market is in full swing!


- Visit of Convento del Deseirto de la Candelaria, a 17th century monastery, and its beautiful gardens.


- Possible stop at Ain Karim, one of the few vineyards of Colombia! Warning : nothing similar with european vineyards.


- Typical lunch in Sutamarchan village.


- Walking guided tour of Villa de Leyva, to know everything about its historical past.

Day 5: Villa de Leyva - Barichara

Departure for the north-central department of Santander with its beautiful craggy mountains and its powerful waterfalls and rivers. Installation in the hotel in Barichara, considered as one of the most beautiful cities of Colombia.

Note: Approximately 4-5 hours drive.

Day 6: Barichara

You will start by the visit of Barichara, one of the most beautiful village in Colombia. You will discover the colonial architecture, recognized as national heritage. Visit of the Imaculada Conception cathedral, Santa Barbara and Santa Lucia Church. Lunch in a typical restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to discover the city under an artistic eye. The city is well-known for its art where many artists live. You will prinipally discover the weaving, the speciality of Barichara.

Day 7: Barichara - Guane - Barichara

Let´s go for a walk thought the cactus and the bucolic landscapes of Camino Real. This old paved way was, during pre-Colombian time, the main road for the Guane indigenous people.
Then, you will reach the eponymous village, where you will take the time to discover the colonial homes as well as a small museum that houses numerous fossils and a mummified princess.
Note 1: 4 to 5 hours return walk.
Note 2: about 30 minutes drive.
Free afternoon to enjoy Barichara at your own pace.

Day 8: Barichara - Bucaramanga - Bogota - Pereira

Early in the morning, departure for another day in the Santander region. You will enjoy the impressive landscapes of Chicamocha Canyon.
Then, transfer to Bucaramanga airport for your domestic flight.

Welcome to the « Coffee Triangle », including the departments of Caldas, Risaralda and Quindío, which together make up the heart of the Zona Cafetera, also called the Eje Cafetero. This area is famous for growing and producing the majority of the Colombian coffee, considered by some as the best coffee in the world.
Transfer to your Hacienda, a large traditional landed estate.

Day 9: Pereira - Salento - Cocora Valley - Pereira



Delve deep into this Colombia´s beautiful area.
This day will be dedicated to the discovery of the scenic landscapes and small villages:
- Jeep Willys ride in the countryside
- Hiking tour past the soaring wax-palm trees in lush Cocora Valley
- Lunch break
- Visit of Salento: panoramic tour, discovery of the local architecture, the houses made of bamboo and the colourful handicraft shops.

Day 10: Pereira - Pijao - Pereira

During the day, you will visit a coffee plantation, nestled in the hills of Quindio Valley, to learn everything about coffee from seed to cup with professional explanations of the whole process (seed collection, roasting , etc...).
You will then participate in a tasting and sensorial unusual adventure : in the shoes of a "catador", the master roaster will make you feel the soul of a real Colombian coffee.
You will no longer drink your coffee in the same way!
On the way back to your hacienda, you will make a stop at Pijao. This small village lost in the Andes seems to be unaffected by the passing of time. Hidden among the mountains, it is part of the villages included in the Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia.

Day 11: Pereira - Cartagena de Indias

Dive into the colorful world of the exotic fruits! Trust the advice of the expert and treat yourself to a guided fruit tasting. You will be surprised and amazed by the diversity of colors, tastes and textures!
Transfer to Pereira airport for your domestic flight.
Domestic flight to Cartagena.
Arrival at Cartagena de Indias, the undisputed queen of the Caribbean coast, a fairy-tale city of romance, legends and superbly preserved beauty lying within an impressive 13km of centuries-old colonial stone walls. Cartagena's old town is a Unesco World Heritage site – a maze of cobbled alleys, balconies covered in bougainvillea, and massive churches that cast their shadows across plazas.
Transfer to your hotel in the historic center. Free time to enjoy the end of the day.

Day 12: Cartagena de Indias

Day 13: Cartagena de Indias

Half Day tour to visit the main historic and cultural sites of Cartagena:

Free time to immerse yourself in the tropical atmosphere of the old town.

Day 14: Cartagena de Indias - Rosario Archipelago - Port de Carthagène - Cartagena de Indias
