Located in the north of Colombia, on the Atlantic Coast, the Magdalena is a very populated region with 1.4 million inhabitants. You can visit Santa Marta and feel the relax atmosphere of this historic port. Situated in a idyllic bay, Santa Marta is one of the oldest city of Colombia. This small charming town was the final resting place of Simon Bolivar and is the perfect starting point to immerse yourself in the heart of Tayrona National Park. You will be able to have beautiful walks between pristine beaches and tropical vegetation, to go for a 4 days trek to La Cuidad Perdida (the Lost City) where the Kogis Indians used to live. Minca luxuriant nature or Taganga fishing village are also worth the trip.
